长兴县基本情况介绍
长兴县地处中国东南沿海浙江省，长江三角洲杭嘉湖平原，与浙江省安吉县、湖州市吴兴区、和安徽省广德县、江苏的宜兴市接壤，隶属于浙江省湖州市，全县区域面积1430平方公里，2013年全县户籍人口62.82万人。
长兴交通区位优越。北连江苏、西接安徽，自古被称为“三省通衢”。境内有四条高速（杭宁、杭长、申苏浙皖、申嘉湖）、四条铁路（宣杭、杭牛、新长、杭宁高铁）、两条国道（104、318）和一条年运量超2000万吨的黄金水道（长湖申航道），与上海、杭州、南京等大城市均在2小时最佳交通圈内。特别是杭宁高铁通车后，长兴到杭州、南京两地的时间缩短为半小时左右。紧依上海浦东、虹桥、杭州萧山、南京禄口四大国际机场和上海、宁波、乍浦三大国际港口。
长兴物产资源丰富。历来有“鱼米之乡”、“丝绸之府”的美誉。矿产资源丰富，被称为“建材之乡”，目前已发现矿产26种，探明储量17种，是华东地区最大的建材生产基地之一。位于太湖西南岸，拥有绵延34公里的太湖湖岸线。
长兴产业基础雄厚。长兴坚持走新型工业化道路，大力实施行业整治，加快产业升级步伐，产业集群效应和块状经济特色逐步显现，形成了以铅酸蓄电池为核心的新型电池、以织造（非织造）为主的现代纺织和以物流机械与电子电器为重点的特色机电三大支柱产业。
长兴经济发展迅速。长兴经济社会发展驶入快车道，跨入了全国综合实力百强县和县域经济基本竞争力百强县（46位）行列，成为全国发展速度最快的县（市）之一。2013年全县地区生产总值（GDP）407.37亿元，财政总收入68.11亿元，同比增长9.6%；地方财政收入39.44亿元，同比增长11.1%。2012年顺利进入全省20个工业强县试点；荣获全国休闲农业与乡村旅游示范县、全国绿化模范县、国家餐饮服务食品安全示范县等3项国家级荣誉和浙江省美丽乡村创建先进县等5项省级荣誉；顺利通过国家生态县和全国节水型城市考核验收、省级旅游经济强县复核验收。被授予中国电池产业之都、全国粉体产业转型升级示范区称号。
A Brief Introduction to Changxing County
Changxing County, under the jurisdiction of Huzhou city, is located in East China’s Zhejiang Province and on the Hang-jia-hu Plain of Yangtze River Delta, bordering Anji County, Wuxin District of Zhejiang Province, Guangde County of Anhui Province and Yixing City of Jiangsu Province. It covers an area of 1,430 square km with a population of 628,200.
Well-developed transportation
Bordering Jiangsu in the north and Anhui in the west, Changxing is historically known as a transportation hub. Running through the county are four expressways (Hang-Ning, Shen-Su-Zhe-Wan, Hang-Chang and Shen-Jia-Hu), three railways (Xuan-Hang, Hang-Ning, Xin-Chang and Hang-Ning high-speed), two national highways (104 and 318), and one golden waterway (Chang-hu-shen Channel) with annual capacity of 20 million tons. It only takes less than 2 hours from Changxing to large cities as Shanghai, Hangzhou and Nanjing. After Hang-Ning high-speed railway being put into use in 2013, the time to Hangzhou and Nanjing has been shorten to half an hour. Such a convenient transportation makes Changxing a close neighbor to the four international airports, which are Shanghai Pudong, Hongqiao，Hangzhou Xiaoshan and Nanjing Lukou and the three international ports, namely Shanghai, Ningbo and Zhapu.
Abundant Resources
Changxing has long enjoyed the fame of land of fish and rice, and home of silk. Rich in mineral resources, Changxing is one of the largest bases for building materials in east China. Up till now, 26 kinds of minerals have been discovered, of which 17 have proved reserves. Located on the south-west bank of Taihu lake, Changxing has a stretching shoreline of 34 km.
Thriving industries
Changxing persists in taking the road of new industrialization, vigorously carrying out the industrial regulation and accelerating the pace of industrial transformation and upgrading, with industrial cluster and massive economy as its emerging features. The three pillar industries, mainly the new battery (with its core in lead-acid battery), modern textile (focus on weaving and non-weaving materials) and the electronics & machinery (features logistic machinery and electronics), have taken shape.
Rapid development
Changxing has obtained a rapid development both economically and socially. It has been listed in the top hundred counties for national comprehensive strength and top hundred counties for county-level basic economic competitiveness( ranked 46th). As one of the fastest-growing counties in China, the regional GDP in 2013 reached 40.737 billion yuan. The total revenue is 6.811 billion yuan with a 9.6% increase over last year, among which regional revenue 3.94 billion yuan with a 11.1% increase. In 2012, Changxing has been listed as one of the pilots for provincial top 20 industrial counties. It has got 3 national awards (respectively model ounty for national sightseeing agriculture and countryside tourism; model county for afforestation; model county for catering service and food safety) and 5 provincial awards such as provincial advanced county for beautiful countryside. It has successfully passed the assessment for national ecological & national water saving county and provincial advanced county for tourism economy. Changxing has also been regarded as the city for National Battery Industries and National Powder Transformation and Upgrading.
